Samsung Galaxy SII unveiled best-selling phone 2011, as Ace comes out

As Samsung unveil their first smartphone of 2012, the Galaxy Ace Plus, the Korean firm will be celebrating as they win the sales crown of 2011 with their flagship device.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has been named as the best-selling mobile phone of 2011, with mobile phone deals for the device topping other notable releases including Apple’s iPhone 4S. The S2 had come out on top for 8 consecutive months. The only serious contender was the iPhone 4S, released in October. The Galaxy Ace, whose successor the Ace Plus will be released in the UK in the coming months, came in third. After that came the HTC Wildfire S, the iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Sensation, the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S.

The list crowns not only a hugely successful year for Samsung but also for Android. Samsung has predicted it will sell 150 million smartphones in 2012 and it starts off with the announcement of the Galaxy Ace Plus, an entry level smartphone powered by a 1 GHz processor with 512MB RAM and 3GB of internal storage along with a 5 megapixel camera. It is part of the company’s strategy to dominate the smartphone market, providing a device for every budget.

In an analysis of the most important mobile developments in 2012 Samsung again features heavily. One of the biggest trends expected to hit the market this year is quad-core technology. Samsung gets a mention as it is expected the highly anticipated follow up to the S2, the S3 will be released in the spring and it's likely it will feature this, making phones even quicker and apps faster. Android is expected to continue to dominate but the frustration that has developed after the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus may linger. The Nexus is the first device to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Some users have raised concerns about fragmentation. Ice Cream Sandwich was designed to address many fragmentation issues for app developers, but as manufacturers are still able to develop their own interfaces for Android Ice Cream Sandwich the OS is likely to continue to see fragmentation issues hits year. One primary concern is that many Android devices do not get updated quickly when a new version of Android is released, and many other devices never see an update.

ICS runs on 0.6% of Android devices according to new statistics. That’s about the same proportion of devices that are still on the earliest version of the Google operating system, Android 1.5 Cupcake. Over half, are running Gingerbread.

Samsung’s great 2011 has been built on producing smartphones at every level of the market, from its flagship industry leader the S2 – which has changed the way smartphones look – to its entry level versions. The Galaxy range, in expanding into tablets is becoming one of the most dominant brands in the technology marketplace. Announcing the release of the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus in the first week of 2012 in the UK suggest a statement of intent from the Korean manufacturer. 2012, it would appear, will be more of the same.

21st May 2001. I remember the date very clearly. On that bright summer afternoon I had gone to the nearby library just like everyday and told the person at counter,” I am done with this book. Give me some good book to read.”

I had my summer holidays during that time and to keep myself busy I had become a member of nearby library. I almost completed one book in a day and used to go to that librarian uncle everyday with a demand for “some interesting book.” This day was different than the rest as today he introduced me to Chicken Soup for the Soul series. His words still ring in my ears,” Read this book and you will remember me for your
entire life.” I just smiled and left taking that book along.

As I started reading it, I realized how true he was. I was shivering with joy, shedding copious tears, laughing aloud and chuckling in delight while reading the stories. And that day began a life long affair with the chicken soup series. For an 18 year old young girl it was the window to an entirely different world which was beautiful and full of surprises. No doubt I kept on asking for more and more, and it has never disappointed me till date.

Since then there has been no looking back as every occasion in my life has been celebrated with Chicken Soup and I have enjoyed it sip by sip basking in its warmth. I began with the 1st helping of Chicken Soup for the Soul taking the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th helping over the coming years.

On my 21st birthday I presented myself with the Chicken Soup for the Women’s Soul. I had finally turned into a woman, armed with my degree ready to take over the world- definitely a moment to celebrate! As I was about to complete a not-so-successful year in the corporate world I treated myself to a 2nd helping of the Chicken Soup for the Women’s soul – for all the tough times I faced professionally and all the strength I displayed to just sail through it.

Amidst all the deadlines and meetings there was a sense of something lacking experienced by me. No amount of distressing could make me feel better. Not to be disappointed by this, I celebrated this occasion with a Chicken Soup for the Chocolate Lover’s Soul as a tribute to my love for chocolates.

With the passage of time and the ups and downs of life my soul had been battered. It needed to be rejuvenated. I was trying everything from meditation to yoga to help myself when I got Chicken Soup for the Indian Spiritual Soul as an icing on the cake.
Chicken Soup for the Indian Women’s soul has been the cherry on the icing making me feel proud to be an Indian Woman. While Chicken Soup for the soul @ work has helped me face my work-related issues more strongly, Chicken Soup for the coffee-lovers soul has helped me revive my love for coffee.

This year once again Chicken Soup has presented me with a wonderful gift in the form of Chicken Soup for the Indian Bride’s soul as I prepare for my impending wedding.The list is endless. Today I have got close to 20 Chicken Soup Series titles which are very close to my heart and I would not trade them for anything in this world. I already have a wish list ready and have plans to add to this gradually as time comes gracing each occasion in my life with yet another helping. Chicken Soup has
retained its original flavor at the same time adding a different tinge to itself each time to cater to the zillion needs of my soul. For me Chicken Soup is my companion who has grown up with me and witnessed my coming of age.

From a teenaged, confused college goer to an independent strong woman- All this time Chicken Soup has been like a loyal friend for me and I have never ever felt lonely again. Whenever in trouble I know whom do I need to reach out to – my collection of Chicken Soups and I get answers to all my troubles every time.During times of distress the various stories have helped me gather strength and provided me with reasons to smile. Time and again I have narrated stories from Chicken Soups to encourage my friends during their tough times. I have hordes of incidents where Chicken Soup has come to my rescue and has acted like a dependable agony aunt providing me with timely solutions.

I am sure very soon it will be time for my own Chicken Soup or so rather aptly put in Indian version, My Own Tomato Rasam!! How true that librarian Uncle was…… I simply cannot forget him for introducing a new world to me. I would just like to say to all of you – Librarian Uncle and the Chicken Soup team;

There is a time to dream without effort and constraint………and there is a time to do the work that will bring those dreams to life in real world. And while doing that work to reach your dreams give your best. Don’t attach any conditions to your dreams. Some may come true some might not. It’s like eating a bunch of grapes. They give us a hope to survive during dark hours and a reason to smile during good times of life. The hidden opportunities behind all the difficult times are like a rainbow peeping from the grey dark clouds. And good times are like a beautiful sunrise, bright n shining, waiting to spread its warmth of love and glow of happiness to everyone. And as Anonymous has said, why just touch the sky when you can rule it!! The sky is the limit – When there is no limit to how far you can go in everything that you do!!

Tata Sky the leading and "Premium" DTH Brand in India.Well people and industry think so. I beg to differ here. Other than few flashes the performance and price of Service is not at all premium. The picture quality is not awesome even for 21' TV. Anyways that is my personal experience. I would love to hear about the HD service of all the providers . Here I am providing the Price and review of HD GOLD Pack, which is only pack available for HD users(offer all other channels are in normal picture quality).

Channels:- Star Plus HD, NGC HD, Star World HD, Star Movies HD, Discovery HD,Star Cricket HD and Star Gold HD.

If you see Airtel Digital TV HD , the channels are also available on a la carte basis. Whereas Tata Sky is not providing a la carte for HD Channels.But the major breakthrough for Tata Sky is they are providing Star Cricket HD in the pack, which according to me will be the differentiator among Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV in HD space for Now.Although Digital TV's pack include Movies NOW HD and Tata Sky include Star Cricket HD , the overall pricing is very aggressive by Airtel. The package is available for Rs. 65+Tax(around Rs. 72) whereas Tata Sky HD Pack cost Rs. 75. The very good feature is a la carte channels in Digital TV whereas Tata Sky still has to provide a la carte channels.

Overall if you are Tata Sky user and you are satisfied then , you can continue using it without much worry and can opt for HD Pack. But if you don't want to shed too much money then you have to think or its better to wait.

The National Policy of the Older Persons (NPOP) was declared in January 1999 by the Indian government , commemorating the the International Year of the Older Persons. The policy highlights the rising elderly population and an urgent need to understand and deal with the medical, psychological and socio-economic problems faced by the elderly.Himachal Pradesh became the first state to legislate on maintenance of parents by enacting Himachal Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Dependents Act, 2001. Union legislature passed The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

Salient Features of The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007

Maintenance includes provision for food, clothing, residence and medical attendance and treatment.Chapter II of the Act titled as Maintenance of parents and senior citizens contains following provisions-

(i) Right to claim maintenance
It is available to a senior citizen including parent who is unable to maintain himself from his own earning or out of the property owned by him. He shall be entitled to make an application under section 5 in case of parent or grand-parent, against one or more of his children not being a minor; a childless senior citizen, against such of his relative.

(ii) Obligation to maintain

Obligation of children to maintain of wide
The obligation of the children to maintain his or her parent extends to the needs of such parent either father or mother or both, as the case may be, so that such parent may lead a normal life.

Obligation of relative children to maintain restricted
Any person being a relative of a senior citizen and having sufficient means shall maintain such senior citizen provided he is in possession of the property of such senior citizen or he would inherit the property of such senior citizen.

(iii) Constitution of Maintenance Tribunal
The State Government by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute for each Sub-division one or more Tribunals as may be specified in the notification for the purpose of adjudicating and deciding upon the order for maintenance under section 5.The Tribunal shall be presided over by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer of a State.

(iv) Application to Tribunal
An application for maintenance under section 4 may be made by a senior citizen or a parent, as the case may be; or if he is incapable, by any other person or organization authorized by him. The Tribunal may take cognizance suo motu.

An application for maintenance may be filed against one or more persons, provided that such children or relative may implead the other person liable to maintain parent in the application for maintenance.

(v) Procedure to be followed by Tribunal
On receipt of an application for maintenance ,after giving notice of the application to the children or relative and after giving the parities an opportunity of being heard, The Tribunal shall hold an inquiry for determining the amount of maintenance.
The proceedings under section 5 may be taken against any children or relative in any district where he resides or last resided; or (b) where children or relative resides.

On receipt of the application under section 5, the Tribunal shall issue a process for procuring the presence of children or relative against whom the application is filed. For securing the attendance of children or relative the Tribunal shall have the power of a Judicial Magistrate of first class as provided under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

All evidence to such proceedings shall be taken in the presence of the children or relative against whom an order for payment of maintenance is proposed to be made, and shall be recorded in the manner prescribed for summons cases.

Time period for disposal of application
An application filed for the monthly allowance, for the maintenance and expenses for proceeding shall, as far as possible be disposed of within ninety days from the date of the service of notice of the application to such person. The Tribunal may extend the said period, once for a maximum period of thirty days in exceptional circumstances for reasons to be recorded in writing.

(vi) Order for monthly allowance and interim allowance
The Tribunal may order such children or relative to make a monthly allowance for the interim maintenance of such senior citizen including parent and to pay the same to such senior citizen including parent and to pay the same to such senior citizen including parent as the Tribunal may from time to time direct. Any such allowance for the maintenance and expenses for proceeding shall be payable from the date of the order, or, if so ordered, from the date of the application for maintenance or expenses of proceeding, as the case may be. When an order is made under this Chapter, the children or relative who is required to pay any amount in terms of such order shall, within thirty days of the date of announcing the order by the tribunal, deposit the entire amount ordered in such manner as the Tribunal may direct.

Simple interest on amount of maintenance
Where any Tribunal makes an order for maintenance made under this Act, such Tribunal may direct that in addition to the amount of maintenance, simple interest shall also be paid at such rate and from such date not earlier than the date of making the application as any be determined by the tribunal which shall not be less than five per cent and not more than eighteen per cent.

(vii) Compliance of order

Monthly allowance
If children or relatives, as the case may be, neglect or refuse to maintain a senior citizen being unable to maintain himself, the Tribunal may, on being satisfied of such neglect or refusal, order such children or relatives to make a monthly allowance at such monthly rate for the maintenance of such senior citizen, as the Tribunal may deem fit and to pay the same to such senior citizen as the Tribunal may, from time to time, direct.

Maximum maintenance allowance per month not to exceed ten thousand rupees
The maximum maintenance allowance which may be ordered by such Tribunal shall be such as may be prescribed by the State Government which shall not exceed ten thousand rupees per month.

Warrant in case of breach of order
If, children or relative so ordered fail, without sufficient cause to comply with the order, any such Tribunal may, for every breach of the order, issue a warrant for levying the amount due in the manner provided for levying fines, and may sentence such person for the whole or any part of each month’s allowance for the maintenance and expenses of proceeding, as the case be, remaining unpaid after the execution of the warrant, to imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or until payment if sooner made whichever is earlier.No warrant shall be issued for the recovery of any amount due under this section unless application be made to the Tribunal to levy such amount within a period of three months from the date on which it became due.

Maintenance order to have force as that of order passed under Chapter IX Cr PC, 1973
A maintenance order made under this Act shall have the same force and effect as an order passed under Chapter IX of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and shall be executed in the manner prescribed for the execution of such order by that Code.

(viii) Appellate Tribunal for each district
The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute one Appellate Tribunal for each district to hear the appeal against the order of the Tribunal. The Appellate Tribunal shall be presided over by an officer not below the rank of District Magistrate.Any senior citizen or a parent, as the case may be, aggrieved by an order of a Tribunal may, within sixty days from the date of the order, prefer an appeal to the Appellate Tribunal.

It may, after examining the appeal and the records called for either allow or reject the appeal. It shall make an endeavour to pronounce its order in writing within one month of the receipt of an appeal.

(ix) Maintenance Officer
The State Government shall designate the District Social Welfare Officer or an officer not below the rank of a District Social Welfare Officer, by whatever name called as Maintenance Officer. He shall represent a parent if he so desires, during the proceedings of the Tribunal, or the Appellate Tribunal, as the case may be.

(x) Free Copy of Orders of Maintenance Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal
A copy or the order of maintenance and including the order regarding expenses of proceedings, as the case may be, shall be given without payment of any fee to the senior citizen or to parent, as the case may be, in whose favour it is made.
A copy of every order made by Appellate Tribunal shall be sent to both the parties free of cost.

(xi) Efforts towards amicable settlement
The Tribunal before hearing an application under section 5 may, refer the same to a Conciliation Officer and such Conciliation Officer shall submit his findings within one month an if amicable settlement has been arrived at, the Tribunal shall pass an order to that effect.

Chapter III, IV and V provide as follows:
Establishment of old-age homes
The State Government may establish and maintain such number of old age homes at accessible places, as it may deem necessary, in a phased manner, beginning with at least one in each district to accommodate in such homes a minimum of one hundred fifty senior citizens who are indigent. The State Government may, prescribe a scheme for management of old age homes, including the standards and various types of services to be provided by them which are necessary for medical care and means of entertainment to the inhabitants of such homes.

Medical support for senior citizen
The State Government shall ensure that the Government hospitals or hospitals funded fully or partially by the Government shall provide beds for all senior citizens as far as possible; separate queues be arranged for senior citizens; facility for treatment of chronic, terminal and degenerative diseases is expanded for senior citizens; research activities for chronic elderly diseases and ageing is expanded; and there are earmarked facilities for geriatric patients in every district hospital duly headed by a medical officer with experience in geriatric care.

Measures for publicity awareness, etc., for welfare of senior citizen
The State Government shall, take all measures to ensure that the provisions of this Act are given wide publicity through public media including the television, radio and the print, at regular intervals; the Central Government and State Government Officers, including the police officers and the members of the judicial service, are given periodic sensitization and awareness training on the issues relating to this Act; and effective co-ordination between the services provided by the concerned Ministries or Departments dealing with law, home affairs, health and welfare, to address the issues relating to the welfare of the senior citizens and periodical review of the same is conducted.

Chanakya's Chant is second book written by Ashwin Sanghi. His First Book was Rozabal Line which is somewhat better in writing quality . Two parallel stories going hand in hand is the essence of this novel. Author is able enough to engage the readers even when the context changes from Past to Present and vice versa. The kingmaker Chanakya is well known for his manipulative skills and author depicts the same in a very emphatic fashion. The history is told such that it keeps hold on the reader for a long time and compel the reader to keep on flipping the pages quickly. What I find most interesting in the book is the story of GangaSagar Mishra. He is modern Chanakya which is justified but the thing which comes out of the story is the standard of politics has gone down to the lowest of level. It is like a bollywood thriller which keeps you seated for hours studying the book.

I have read the book and advised it to friends, not just for the sake of entertainment but for knowing the history , how Chanakya avoided Alexander's intrusion and how he made things happen.This book has 468 pages which could easily be read in 3-4 days.Author claimed that you should finish it in 2 days , seems more of Imagination , its not impossible though.

The mass media today has taken the role once played by family, community, religion and formal education in socialization and shaping values. There exists a complicated relationship between mass media and society. It plays the role of information provider and also serves as a thinking platform. Women are often depicted as scrupulous trying to seduce the counter-parts in their sexy outfits for various products in commercial advertisements. The ad makers seem to have forgotten the Indian values of respecting women. The Bllywood movies represent a dual image of women, one of vamp and other of ideal daughter-in-law, the actual Indian woman is often between the two. The sacrificial as well as totally self-centered women are not the reality. Though portray of women in media has undergone change still societal outlook even today has not permitted to depict their success as much as of their counter-parts.

GMMP 2010 , National Report India report based on data gathered from a sample of 20 dailies, 11 TV news bulletins, and 5 radio bulletins which together represent 9 languages found the overall presence of women as subjects in the news in India was only 22 per cent across all news topics.

The law relating to obscenity in this country prior to 1986 was only codified in Sections 292, 293 and 294 of the Indian Penal Code. In spite of these provisions, there is growing body of indecent representation of women or references to women in publications, particularly advertisements, etc. which have the effect of denigrating women and are derogatory to women. The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 was enacted to prohibit indecent representation of women through advertisements or in publications, writings, paintings, figures or in any other manner. Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994 (as amended upto 27.02.2009) viz. Rule 6(1) (k) prohibits telecast of programs which denigrates women and Rule 7(2)(vi) prohibits advertisement projecting a derogatory image of women. Rule 6(2) provides that the cable operator should strive to carry programs in his cable service which project women in a positive, leadership role of sobriety, moral and character building qualities. Broadcast Regulatory Authority of India , Central Board for Film Certiﬁcation (CBFC), Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) are some of the bodies associated with censorship etc.

Upon whom lies the responsibility to ensure that the fundamental duty incorporated under Article 51 A, The Constitution of India to … renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women is fulfilled lies.

No doubt parents are god,and they will always do the Right thing for the child.But at times parents by influence and their status want their child to shine up.But the child can shine up in a field which he likes too..then why not give him a opportunity..

As we saw in a movie called "3 Idiots" that's what i would like to bring out here..I hope you enjoy reading.

Animals learn from their instincts and entirely on what their parents have taught them on how to survive, with a few, minor exceptions.

In humans, we develop our own thought. True, it's usually influenced by our ancestors and history and past event's, but we make progress. We constantly come up with new ideas defying the old and improving life. To give this right up to a child is creating a mindless, imagination less brainwashed zombie kid who is run by tradition and not his own thoughts, like most animals.

You've had your chance to live, now let the next generation have theirs. Naturally as this is purely based on opinions, I cannot prove or disprove anything in the eyes of a neutral party, as said party would not fully understand such things. I'll try empathy, you wake up one day and have nothing to look forward to but someone looking down at you, telling you who you are, what you do, what's right and wrong, what is real and what isn't. You go through this every day for 18 years, every time you do or say something you're not told to, you are punished. Now for those of you who completely psychopathic, I have found logical support while I was typing,think that person went through that and then has to be placed on the other end, do you really believe they will be able to do it.

Everything is pre-planned in modern families. You will have a definite on look about what to do in the next moment to what has to happen after many years. In this situation, it is only natural that you have planned almost everything for your child's future from their education, social status, friends, career, marriage and their own families. However wait and ponder over some ideas to know where you must stop planning your child's future.

Many parents are scared about their child's future when their children do not get admission in desired educational institutions or later because of their child's unaccomplishment in exams or pre-planned courses.

Consider your educational qualifications, abilities and the background that you hailed from while you plan for your child's education. Even if you are coming from a poor family, studied in a common educational institution and took a general curriculum; you must have out shined many others. When your children reach a mature level of education better stop nagging them about their future studies. Instead encourage them to achieve their goals and dreams in the best manner.

Most parents have sleepless nights thinking of their child's friends circle. There is nothing wrong if u guide wen they go wrong. However don't compel them to select friends of your choice. Some parents even consider that their child's company is below their status level. Your child's temperament and moods may be different from yours and they may find it difficult to cope with friends of your choice.

It is surprising that many parents decide their child's career even today. They may find it derogatory if their children choose a common man's career. It is an unhealthy situation that every parent must avoid. If your children have willingness to choose a career; that itself credit much to your efforts. Help them to select a career that suits their education and interests rather than your status. Always lend a supportive hand to them and make them realize that all the success in career depends upon initial struggles.

Majority of the parents still faces sheer dilemma when their child's marriage time arrives. Parents are in utter shock when their children reveal for the first time that they have already find their life partner or put out their conditions. Start to oppose your children only if you can convince them adverse effects of their choice. On the other hand if they are giving you the honor to select their partner, choose the best person for them rather than compelling them for the first proposal. Try to reason yourself that your children have grown up and now it is their time to plan. After all you made all planning in your life to make your children happy.

When a child gets a birth, he remains all the time with his parents until he earns money for his life. I remembered that I learned walking by holding my father's finger. The first word which I said 'father' which learned from my parents. Parents teach good habit to a child. Parents tries a child to avoid bad habit by making him realized. Parents teach a child to give respect to others. They teach good manners to a child. Parents always get credited by elders when a child gives respect to them.

Parents always worry about a child's career. When he gets an age to study, he admits him into a school for his great future. Parents make a child used to with study. Parents explain to a child an important of education in life. When I was a child, I did not like to go school but all the time, I heard from my parents that education is necessary to earn good money. They always tell me that I would not get any desired thing in my life if I do not go school and complete my study.

In brief, parents are a real god who always remain with his child. Parents never let down his son in any situation. They always teach his son to be a good and honest citizen of the country.

Many parents nowadays, started to make decisions for their teenage children. Others, still give the opportunity for the children to make decisions on their own and to be responsible among themselves. In my view, I prefer for children to make all important decisions on their own for the following reasons.

First, teenage child’s (15- to 18-years-old) usually had reached puberty and became mature enough both physically and mentally, as there brains had developed enough. Therefore, parents should give their children the opportunity to try how to make decisions on their own. This is because; when child’s goes for education in universities in different country’s than the country that his parents, there is a big possibility that the child will live alone and there might no one that could help him to make or to decide on his important decisions.

Second, child’s from fifteen to eighteen years old like to have some privacy in their lives and to live in the way and style that they like to live. Also, when parents make important decisions for their child then there is also a possibility that the child will not be convinced by his parent’s decisions. For instance, when a child needs to decide for which county to travel for education his parents might decide for him to go for Paris, but the child might want to go to Canada so that he wouldn’t miss his friends that he had in the school. As a result, the child might not work hard to achieve his parent’s aims, as he will not be motivated and convinced with them.

In conclusion, In order to give birth for developed generations in the future, parents should give at least their kids the chance to decide certain significant decisions on their own, to prevent any of the problems mentioned above. As the child will then get motivated enough to work hard to become better, as he will be more confident with the decisions that he took by his own.

To conclude cite the proverb " Like father, like son." You cannot expect extraordinary things from your children that you haven't done in your life. Even if your children don't reach upto your level or one child goes back in the race than your other child; don't let them down. They must have inherent caliber that can come out through proper guidance and encouragement. Their failure will be a stepping-stone to success only with your support. Help your children to decide their future and to live a life of self-esteem

So at times its essential to see child's interest in the field and then look towards it..And in this competition world where lacks of students give exams for engineering or medical.Some may not get what they want but it does not imply that they don't deserve it..Its only that something even better is stored for them..

Although it is a fact that science can not fight with fate and it often fails to defeat nature yet it has done a lot to minimize the disastrous effects of nature. Scientists have invented such machines like air conditioner and heater that can give comfort to the man in hot summers and in extreme winters respectively. Now there are such instruments, which can warn man against floods, earthquakes and windstorm. After getting such warnings human beings are able to take preventive measures.

Science has negatives too..No one can forget the Bhopal Gas tragedy, which was one of the carelessness and due to radioactive explosions, where people are facing troubles till today.Science have been misused to a great extend.Till date parents aren't happy if they get a girl child so before birth they check out whether child is girl or boy.Why? Why cant we be happy with what we have?
Nuclear power plants and weapons were for protection and not for destruction.But people fail to understand that.

As Mahatma Gandhi rightly said,
"We can satisfy man's need, but not man's greed"

Its true and people need to think broad and think about the future with a better perspective.
In the end, we can conclude that science and technology don't make great changes to our lifestyles but upgrading life and thing related to it. Family system has become complex to suit the demands of society. Two types of family are generally known to exist. The traditional social set-up was always in favor of joint family system or extended family system. With the influence of urbanization and western values, disintegration can be noticed in the traditional family system.. Other reasons responsible for this change are impact of industrialization, declining role of marriage institution and primacy of conjugal relationships over fraternal relationships.

A preference towards adopting nuclear family system may be said because of greater independence provided by them. Occupational reasons also influence such a choice. The more prevalence of egalitarian attitude among the people has allowed both men and women to make a choice between joint family system and nuclear family system.

The product of lifestyles and beliefs adopted by people has to a large extent changed the nature of family system conceived by us. It must be appreciated that the traditional pattern of joint family system has survived the ongoing pressures of circumstances that were against it. The bond of ‘togetherness’ has still allowed joint families to continue in the society. Emerging family size is not something, which should disturb us rather its effects on younger generation.

We must as part of Indian society try to preserve this institution and sanctity attached with it. We must remember that it is the first institution that socializes a child and later on becomes the most important source of nurturance and emotional bonding.

They point to the flaws in scientists' measurements, the complexity of the climate, and the uncertainty in the climate models used to predict climate change. They claim that attempting to lower greenhouse emissions may do more damage to the world economy and human society than any amount of global warming. In truth, the future probably fits somewhere between these two scenarios."

Following are the top 10 tips to save energy and save earth.

1.Fluorescent tube lights and CFLs convert electricity to visible light up to 5 times more efficiently than ordinary bulbs and thus save about 70% of electricity for the same lighting levels.

2.One will use 3 to 5 percent less energy for each degree air conditioner is set above22°C (71.5°F), so set the thermostat of room air conditioner at 25°C (77°F) to provide the most comfort at the least cost.

3.Make sure that refrigerator is kept away from all sources of heat, including direct sunlight, radiators and appliances such as the oven, and cooking range. When it's dark, place a lit flashlight inside the refrigerator and close the door. If light around the door is seen, the seals need to be replaced.

4.Refrigerator motors and compressors generate heat, so allow enough space for continuous airflow around refrigerator. If the heat can't escape, the refrigerator's cooling system will work harder and use more energy.

5.Allow hot and warm foods to cool and cover them well before putting them in refrigerator. Refrigerator will use less energy and condensation will reduced.

6.By reducing the temperature setting of water heater from 60 degrees to 50 degrees C, one could save over 18 percent of the energy used at the higher setting.

7.Microwaves save energy by reducing cooking times. In fact, one can save up to 50 percent on your cooking energy costs by using a microwave oven instead of a regular oven, especially for small quantities of food.

8.Use an electric kettle to heat water. It's more energy efficient than using an electric cook top element.

9.If your computer must be left on, turn off the monitor; this device alone uses more than half the system's energy.

10.Battery chargers, such as those for laptops, cell phones and digital cameras, draw power whenever they are plugged in and are very inefficient. Pull the plug and save.

Surrogacy is a well known method of reproduction whereby a woman agrees to become pregnant for the purpose of gestating and giving birth to a child she will not raise but hand over to a contracted party.

In the states of Arizona, New Jersey, and Michigan all forms of surrogacy are prohibited. Kentucky, Nebraska, and Washington only surrogacy, based on commerce is prohibited. Commercial surrogacy is prohibited in European countries such as France, Greece, Denmark and the Netherlands. Germany, Sweden, Norway and Italy prohibit every kind of surrogacy arrangements. In UK, the surrogate mother is the legal mother; vide section 27(1) of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990. Section 30 of the said Act at the same time provides that if the surrogate mother consents to the child to be treated as the child of the commissioning parents the court may make a parental order to that effect. This section also prohibits giving or taking of money or other benefit (other than expenses reasonably incurred) in consideration of the making of the order or handing over of the child.

The world’s second and India's first IVF (in vitro fertilization) baby, Kanupriya alias Durga was born in Kolkata on October 3, 1978 about two months after the world's first IVF boy, Louise Joy Brown born in Great Britain on July 25, 1978. Since then the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART) has developed rapidly.

The Report submitted by Women Service Society (Kerala) in December , 2005 desired that appropriate, detailed records of all donor eggs, sperms or embryos used and the manner of their use be maintained. These records must be maintained for at least four decades. A surrogate mother, carrying a child biologically unrelated to her, must register as a patient in her own name, while registering, she must mention that she is surrogate mother and provide all the necessary information about the genetic parents such as names, address etc. All the expenses of the surrogate mother during the period of pregnancy and post- natal care relating to pregnancy should be bone by the couple seeking surrogacy. The surrogate mother would also be entitled to a monetary compensation from the couple for agreeing to act as a surrogate. The exact value of this compensation should be decided mutually between the couple and the proposed surrogate mother.

As per the National Guidelines for Accreditation, a supervision and regulation of ART clinics, surrogacy arrangement is a ‘legal parenthood option’. Biological parents must adopt a child born through surrogacy and the sale or transfer of human embryos outside the country is prohibited.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has come out with a draft Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill and Rules, 2008. The Bill neither creates, nor designates or authorizes any court or quasi-judicial forum for adjudication of disputes arising out of surrogacy, ART and surrogacy agreements.

The real danger with surrogacy in India today is that it is being overused and misused today. Without a safe legal framework to operate in, patients are being misled and misguided. Surrogacy in India is legitimate because no Indian law prohibits surrogacy. To determine the legality of surrogacy agreements, the Indian Contract Act would apply.

With the submission of report by Law Commission it is hoped that scenario for doctors, legal professionals and parties to surrogacy may improve with more uniform pattern of rules for them.

We often hear women talking about their work-experience which of course involves their successful journey but also a bitter truth of sexual harassment. It may range from a minute sexiest comment to physical sexual acts. A survey done by Sakshi, a Delhi based NGO in 2002 revealed that the incidents of sexual harassment cut across social strata and professions.

Sexual Harassment defined by the Supreme Court

In its landmark judgment in Vishakha versus State of Rajasthan[1] defined sexual harassment as including such unwelcome sexually determined behaviour which can be in the form of physical contact and advances; a demand or request for sexual favours; sexually coloured remarks; showing pornography and any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature.

Sexual Harassment defined in the Bill

Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexually determined behavior which can be in the form of physical contact and advances; a demand or request for sexual favors; sexually colored remarks; showing pornography and any other unwelcome conduct of sexual nature whether verbal, textual, physical, graphic or electronic or by any other actions which may include -

1.Implied or overt promise of preferential treatment in employment.
2.Implied or overt threat of detrimental treatment in employment.
3.Implied or overt threat about the present or future employment status.
4.Conduct which interferes with work or creates an intimidating or offensive or hostile work environment.
5.Humiliating conduct constituting health and safety problems.[2]

What makes Women keep mum about such Incidents

Unawareness about the fact that harassment has taken place is the first factor by which women find themselves unable to report incidents taking place against them. Shrabonee Paul, a Kolkata based Psychologist has observed that often women are unaware because it is indirect or in the form of lewd remark. The fear of being embarrassed in the society stops them to remain silent of continuous violation of their right to life with dignity. Dr.Deepti Bhatnagar, Professor of Organizational Behaviour, IIM, Ahemdabad has enumerated two reasons that disallow a women to make complaints viz. belief that the complaint would not be taken up seriously and such acts against them are but ‘only normal’ in a male-dominated workplace.

If they chose to take action against the harasser, they would have to face relatively more harmful consequences than the harm suffered by them in workplace environment; such thoughts must not be permitted to let matters of sexual harassment go unreported. Every second when the victim just sees the harasser, she is subject unimaginable physiological harm, if we forget her physical consequences. How the result of not complaining can be considered better than the loss to her dignity which she has to suffer just because she may be may be blamed by her family or society?

Duty of the Legislature and Executive

The judiciary has from 1990s come forward to lay guidelines in such cases, and then it is also a constitutional obligation of other wings of the State to uphold dignity of women.

The Protection of Women against Sexual Harassment at Workplace Bill, 2007 has not taken the shape of a statute. We don’t know how long it would take, but we can hope that it is soon passed and implemented well by our administrators.

Concluding remarks

In its judgment delivered in Vishakha case, the Apex Court touched a sensitive note and laid down the measures required to be taken up by both government and private institutions. Complaint Committee is required to established in all institutions with confidentiality as its essence to look into grievances of women at workplace and ensuring provision of counselor or support service to complainants.

In our efforts to curb incidents of sexual harassment at workplace, we must not forget that false complaints are made just to get compensation and other monetary reliefs. Nisha Bhatia case in RAW and Captain Poonam case in Army both in 2008 have raised doubts as to how true nature of complaints can be determined.

It is indeed an agony that most of working women experience sexual harassment t workplace but still do not dare to bring offenders to the Court, who is at fault - such helpless women, the police machinery or society as a whole.

Reliance 3G Data Tariffs || Mobile Broadband Tariff

Reliance Communications (ADAG) launched the 3G services in 4 circles Mumbai,New Delhi,Kolkata and Chandigarh.The tariff seems just OK OK not very impressive and very attractive.Not much different from the tariff of Tata Docomo but there is no Unlimited data plans has been announced,I think DOCOMO has got their noses in front here.Anyway all these circles are very very important considering the density of Mobile customers and considering the expenses of people on the telecom services.Strategically these 4 circles are lifeline of Reliance communication they are expected to earn maximum revenue from 3G services.

For me as a consumer who is still happy with his 2GB pack in Rs 98 per month ,not very much impressed by the 3G plans.I admit that there is speed but the pricing is I think is not justified to the data,speed and Price ratio.First take a look at the plans and their prices then we will do in-depth analysis of the current prices and what could be perfect pricing for the 3G data plans.

Prepaid Plans:-Until you subscribe any plan you can continue surfing 3G Internet at a price of 10p/10KB.

Note:-Once the Free Quota is over subscriber will be charged @ 10p/10KB.

Postpaid Plans:-
If you don't opt for any plan then you can use the Internet @ 10p/10KB till 50 MB after the limit is breached you can access the Internet @1p/10KB.

IMPORTANT:-According to RCOM all the 2G data packs are being allowed for the time being.There are rumors that they can stop the 2G data services as per their strategies.Well if that would be the case it would do no good to RCOM because the 3G plans are still not affordable to many in the country.Anyways there is a communication that when your 2G data pack will expire then you will automatically switched to the Pay as you Go plan (10p/10KB).Please take a note of it.

Plans doesn't seem very attractive as I said earlier if you see them as Internet users perspective .Yes speed is there but the data is almost negligible considering the speed provided.If 3.6 mbps is the speed then I would end 100MB in just 4 Minutes ,god its their first plan 100MB for 1 month at such a brisk pace.I am never against the enhanced speed,its good that fast services are coming up but every thing should be balanced.Like if they would have given 2 GB @ Rs. 500 then it would have made an awesome data plan.But the RCOM top brass has different Ideas in place.For me 3G plans of RCOM are not attractive and there is a strong thumbs down for it.Yes if you have spare money of course you can enjoy Lightening fast speed and little data.

The Ashes || England and Australia Squad Comparision

Update:-Nathan Hauritz has been eliminated from the first Ashes Squad.In his place Xavier Doherty has been Included and is certain to play in the First test.This brings a change in our squad.According to Aussie selectors this spinner could surprise English right handed batsmen.

Australia has announced their Huge Squad recently,everyone is taken by surprise when Aussie selectors chosen 17 players for the First Ashes Test against England.Three young faces are included in the squad.

1.Callem Ferguson,who has shown some good form in recent past and is putting a lot of pressure on Non-performing Marcus North and Mike Hussey.

2.Usman Khwaja,he is also a middle order batsman like Ferguson but Australia I think has selected these two just to put pressure on North and Hussey to perform.For me it is not the best of moves.If it backfired then Australia would be in a lot of trouble as Ashes pressure is huge and you can't take it for granted that new players will perform and rise up to the occasion.

3.Xavier Doherty ,he is not a typical spinner like Nathan Hauritz,rather he varies his bowling a lot with pace and loop.It is a wise selection which will keep him and Hauritz on their feet to perform.

With less than seven days remaining England seems more certain and confidant about the squad.According to me England will go with 3 pacers and 1 spinner stratergy which has worked well for them in past.England Squad(Probable) for first test:-

All and all the verdict is Australian team looks like wounded tiger who is just waiting for the moment to arrive,but remember their 4 players have recovered from injuries and are not part of any team since then.Some of them are playing shield matches which is a good sign.But when you look at both the sides on paper the anytime anyone will choose England and the Result would be 2-1 England.
But we have to wait till 24th November after that it would be wide open.

UPDATE:-Tata Sky has added Ten Cricket channel to its list of channels and is available at monthly price of Rs.30.Tata Sky also added a new channel called India Cricket which will broadcast all the matches played by India.The price of India Cricket is Rs 365 per annum.Tata sky Ten cricket available at channel 415 and India Cricket is at channel 400.
Dish TV channel Number 658 at a price of Rs 30 per month.

Airtel Digital TV channel number 224 at a price of Rs 30 per month and Rs. 75 every 3 months.

Reliance Big TV channel number 509 at a price of Rs. 25 per month which will include Ten Cricket and Ten Action.All Ten Channels available at Rs 50 per month.

Sun Direct channel number 516 at a price of Rs 40 Per month and for Rs 50 per month for the whole of India vs South Africa series.

Videocon D2H channel Number 419 at a price of Rs 33 per month.

Ten Action+ Update :-Ten Action has been added by all the DTH providers .I don't know the reason why, but the guys like me addicted to champions league football are suffering.This is bad, Tata Sky comprises almost 30% of India's DTH market, still Ten Action is out of sight.I can only hope that atleast next Season , Tata Sky adds Ten Action to their basket of Channels,Keep your fingers crossed.

This past week Tata Sky also added Ten Action in their Package.After wait of whole 1 year this gets done.The Cost of channel is not available as of now but will update once I get the Info, enjoy guys!!!

Although all the DTH providers has added the Ten Cricket in their list but still most of them not added Ten Action+.Lets hope soon they add Ten Action+ too because I think most of the good UEFA Champions League matches are gonna come on it.

Ten Action and Ten Cricket are still not available on most of India's DTH platforms.Only Two among all providers provide Ten Action and No DTH provider providing Ten Cricket as of now.I don't know what the matter is but surely sport lovers are on the losing side here.Only Dish TV and Digital TV are currently providing Ten Action whereas Ten Cricket can only be seen on Cable network.It is been so long since these channels are launched I geuss somewhere around 4-5 months have passed and still I can't see it on my TV.Everyone is missing everything.Like Football lover is losing good matches of UEFA Champions league.All the cricket action has been transferred from Ten Sports to Ten Action so most of the action is missing.Ten Sports is Like nothing it shows very bad shows and programs that are second to Ten Action and Ten Cricket.Ten Sports is like watching golf and WWE all the time.I don't know what it is but surely it is a clear cut stratergy from Ten Group to promote Ten Action and Ten Cricket.I have heared from some sources that these channels are asking handsome money to get included and also they will change all the package pricing may be this is the case where DTH providers do not want to change the package pricing on the large scale.On Dish TV Ten Action and Ten Sports A-la-Carte costs Rs 20(both included) where as on Digital TV Ten Action costs around Rs 10 and Ten Sports for Rs 15.As of now Digital TV is only providing Ten Action on A-la-Carte basis.It will take time to get included in some pack since it could bring whole lot of changes.I am a Tata Sky Subscriber but Since there are lack of most of Zee Channels I don't expect it to be added in near future(War b/w Zee and Tata Sky).I can only hope these channels to be added soon and we could see them as we are missing some action due to missing Ten Action.

Australia is witnessing toughest time in its best of cricketing history.They are being tested many times recently by good opposition and they have ended losing most of the times.Since for Australia the Ultimate test is the Ashes ,their form is a bit of concern.Ponting shown his good form in India but the form of Guys like Mike Hussey and Michael Clark is stretching the concern.Their concern for the wicketkeeper is resolved as Brad Haddin returned to the national team during the One day series against Sri Lanka.Their Bowling has let them down in recent encounters against India and Sri Lanka.With less than a month remaining the availability of Doug Bollinger is still doubtful and on the pitches like WACA Perth he could prove killer.We can only hope that he gets well soon.In australia I think Aussies will go by the all pace attack and ideally it should include the top 4 aussie pacers :- Ben Hilfenhaus,Mitchell Johnson,Doug Bollinger and Peter Siddle.Yes Peter Siddle is fit and is firing in International arena.He is just ideal guy who feeds the aggression of Aussies with his fierce pace bowling and fearless attitude.I love to see this guy bowling.A lot has been said about aussie stengeth and weakness but still I feel if Australia played to their strength England is no match with them.England is a good team but many times they require personal heroics to survive.This team is also no different but the preformance from the skipper Andrew Strauss and KP will be most crucial for England.Since batting is almost equal for both bowling could prove to be the deciding factor and I rate Aussies better in Bowling than England.England lacks firpower in 3rd fast bowler (who is I think Steven Finn).If Greame swann gets going then Englan could enjoy the glory but Aussie batsmen are capable enough of dealing with him.I am happy the way things are going and I am sure it is going to be some battle this time around as both teams are stronger in some aspects or the other.We can't make any guesses as this series is so unpredictable that you never wanna guess,just enjoy the cricket.I am not in anyone's but after considering the home advantage I think The Ashes will come back to Australia this time around.Let's hope for good and corruption free cricket :-) Enjoyy

Reliance Netconnect High speed 1x tariff plans prices has been slashed by RComm considering the customer are more inclined towards the Netconnect Broadband plus.Few New High speed 1x plans has been introduced and few are modified with lower tariff.The broadband plus scheme is growing significantly but High speed 1x has some stagnation in recent times,which propelled RComm to consider the tariff pricing of Netconnect high speed 1x.

I am not a die hard fan of Capitalism ,though it has some advantages and disadvantages but I supported Socialism that everyone should be given equal opportunities and there should not anyone like Rich and poor.Whatever you say that it was my myth or something else but one day (Recently) I have read few line on the web which were said by great American pastor and Conservative church leader Late Adrian Rogers that "You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it".This is just a single line quote but when I started to think about it,it has a very deep meaning hidden in it.

For getting to the I have worked out one example and will illustrate by that so that you would be able to understand more clearly.
Suppose I have 100 men working ,among them suppose 25 are very hard working ,40 are average performers and 35 are poor performers.Now according to the Socialism principles whatever the profit is made should we distributed equally as there is no concept of rich and poor(High and low performers are treated as equal).After distribution of benefits the poor performers were happy and other performers were unhappy of the benefits they got after their performance.With this what happened is high and average performers also thought of getting benefits without work so their performance fell down and poor performers performed even poorly since they were paid handsomely for doing nothing.This way the productivity of people goes to zero and no performance from them leads industry to a standstill.Leveraging no growth of industry and which in turn impacts the growth of the country.

As far as India is concerned its a pure capitalist economy and it is performing nicely in comparison to the peer countries in fact most of the conservative and socialist countries are moving towards the capitalism for Instance Germany,Poland,Bulgaria,Vietnam.A point of see here that China is a strong Communist nation.Despite being communist China maintained a growth rate of 10% over the years which is phenomenal and is proving wrong the concept of Late Adrian Rogers.Anyways there are always some exceptions to general concepts but the fact of matter what I got is Socialism cannot lead to growth of state until and unless people(labour & employees are self motivated) perform.If that continues to happen like its happening in china then its good for socialist states,but remember one thing

"when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed."

My View:-I have personally used the plan BBG FN Combo 500(BroadBand Combo plan) since there is no usage for me in day.I was impressed by the plan because it has free calls of Rs.175 that sounds awesome,but I say again different people has different needs , you might need more data in day time,so you could go for the First plan.This is also a question I have received from many guys that how I would be able to schedule the downloads and how I make sure that connection must terminate in morning before 8 AM.So I must tell you for that you have to search a bit for system scheduling software's and Download schedulers like we have in torrent download software's.So guys enjoy your life and have fun.One thing I can guarantee that you will get more than 150 Kbps in night.So that you can calculate how much data you would accumulate in a month.You might need a External hard disk or two :-)) !!!!

BSNL EVDO is best in unlimited broadband category.Everytime someone asks me about wireless broadband,I always suggest BSNL EVDO its just irresistible.The plans,the speed and every thing is almost perfect of BSNL EVDO.I personally like the BSNL EVDO since it has best of plans also BSNL is considered best Broadband provider in country.The BSNL EVDO's Unlimited plan costs just Rs.750(+taxes).I always admired the services offered by BSNL but on some fronts they fail to other operators.But still I feel they are way better in Broadband services.Lets take a look at details of BSNL EVDO plans:-

MTS Mobile Broadband launched Unlimited download plan @ Rs 999 recently.The services of MTS Broadband are still not available across the country and I suspect that they have their own infrastructure of Telecommunication.Anyways they are providing the UNLIMITED Broadband for just Rs 999.In fact they are first operator to launch the UNLIMITED Mobile broadband usage.This step from MTS provoked many other operators to slash the rates of UNLIMITED Mobile Broadband.The UNLIMITED Broadband usage is bound by "THE FAIR USAGE POLICY" of MTS.I will tell you the details of fair Usage policy of MTS MBlaze mobile broadband but first check out the details of MTS MBlaze Unlimited Mobile Broadband tariff:-

NOTE:-There are no postpaid plan for MBlazer 999 Unlimited.This is a good step to reduce the load on customer of service tax.

Plan Details:-

MBlazer 999 Unlimited RCV
Validity - 30 days
Usage - Unlimited **
Extra charges - Nil

** The first 15Gb will be available for usage upto the speed of 3.1 mbps(maximum) once you breached the limit your will be reduced to 144 kbps.You can get full speed of 3.1 mbps if you recharge the Mblazer 999 RCV again.I don't think that is enough for a broadband customer.This feels so disrespectful and it feels like we are stealing something from them.Guys we are paying for the services we use ,so why such a huge difference in Wireline and wireless broadband.

Now lets see what is the Fair Usage policy of MTS Mblaze 999 Unlimited plan:-
According to MTS "The intent of MBlaze Fair Usage Policy is to provide the optimum Internet experience to all customers. However, very small number of customers use an excessive amount of the network bandwidth, to the extent that it can impair the experience of others. MBlaze Fair usage policy will be applicable for such cases."

"We assure you that the data transfer limits remain unlimited and no change has been made in the same.
* Up to 15GB usage speeds will be 3.1Mbps, beyond 15GB speeds will be optimized to CDMA 1x( 144Kbps )".

Is this a joke or what means they will optimize the speed from 3.1 mbps to 144 kbps.Somebody please step up and teach them the meaning of Optimization,I think they lack some basic concepts here.I personally doesn't feel good when I see prices rising in the broadband market but I love to make my reader aware of such things.I don't recommend MTS MBlazer due to some reasons here are they :-

1.The fair usage policy is too unfair for a true Broadband users(Heavy Downloaders).
2.The price presented is highly unacceptable.
3.No network coverage on all India Basis(Check network coverage here).
4.Complaints coming from users regarding poor Customer support.

Now even if you feel you should check out.It would be your call for sure.For me its Thumbs down.
